Camp participants explore the great outdoors through kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, hiking, and rock climbing. Every day, the campers head out to a new destination. They will discover the natural wonders that central Virginia has to offer, from the Rivanna River to the rocky crags atop the Blue Ridge Mountains. Watershed Adventures meets participants at any experience level and builds solid skills and know-how, giving each camper newfound confidence in outdoor adventure.

In addition to kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and hiking, the camp includes an overnight campout on Thursday atop the Blue Ridge Mountains, followed by a day of rock climbing led by experienced instructors.

Campers take a break from the digital age to experience both meanings of watersheds. First, they explore our local geography and ecology in a hands-on way, cultivating wonder for the natural world. Second, they experience personal watershed moments, developing new perspective and independence. Through Watershed Adventures camp, they gain awareness of activities that can become lifelong sources of inspiration, camaraderie, and good health.
